Personal Training

  • $500 for a custom personal training program
  • Personal training is one on one with head instructor John Affleck.
  • John will initially meet with you for up to 2 hours to discuss your personal objectives and goals.
  • From here, he will design for you an effective personal / custom program.
  • Depending on your objectives, the program could contain elements of nutrition, cardio-respiratory training and resistance training.
  • John will then take you to a gym (possibility work in his school as well) and coach you through the program that he has designed for you.
  • Within a few days, John will fine tune the program and take you back to the gym for a second session.
  • From here, John will follow up in 3 months and take stock.  Normally adjustments to your fitness program are required at this stage.
  • Note as well that anytime throughout the three-month period, John is available for consultation and advice.

Martial Arts

  • $20 per class (two hours)
  • Progression in JAMAS is a recognition of skill level, attitude, level of knowledge, an understanding of principles, good attendance and the total length of time training in the system.
  • The system is based upon Wing Chun Kung Fu complemented by basic Karate and Boxing principles and techniques.
  • It is with this program that you can most benefit from the school’s instructors as they have a wealth of experience and knowledge.
  • There are five basic levels:
    • White – Minimum 25 hours of training at unranked
    • Red – Minimum 50 hours of training at white
    • Green – Minimum 100 hours of training at red
    • Blue – Minimum 100 hours of training at green
    • Black – Minimum 100 hours of training at blue.
    • Various degrees of black are based upon length of time training and contributions.

Street Smarts for Women

  • $100 for the seminar
  • This is a 3-hour seminar-based format and works well with a group of up to 6 people.
  • It is not designed to turn you into a skilled martial artist, rather to survive a potentially life-threatening encounter.
  • While designed for women, men are also most welcome.
  • Seminar format is as follows:
    • Introductions and expectations
    • Seminar Objectives
    • Review of Agenda – lots to cover but keep to the KISS principal
    • Awareness
    • Weapons of opportunity
    • Break falls – how to fall
    • Using the wrist for striking power
    • Escape from a bear hug from behind
    • “Let Me Go Now”
    • Some fun stuff
    • Four wrist-lock take downs – a sneak peek at some advanced techniques (time permitting)
    • Wrap up
